Upcoming switch from whatsglide.com to gapp.glideworkpm.com

A new website to log-in to Glide

For the past few years, the Glide team have been working on a major update the the back-end (aka, the ‘inner workings’) of the Glide system.

This new version has been in use for some time by our customers that access Glide using MS Entra ID (Single Sign On) along with a growing group of ‘early adopter’ users and is now ready for general access.

To coincide with this project, we are also making a switch to hosting the web application at gapp.glideworkpm.com. You can start to log into this site right now. Recent improvements to Glide have been made on this new platform only, meaning there are a number of immediate benefits to the move, these are listed in full below.

Please note that your username and password are not effected by this change. In addition, any multi-factor authentication will continue to work as before. With the change in domain, you may find you need to re-save your password in your browser or password management app.

The new system brings many advantages that shall help to power our continued growth. One exciting area of development is our frontend re-design. This is the part of Glide you actually see and use. We have now started the process of re-designing those key screens so as to bring a refreshed experience, factoring in any user feedback we have received. This shall be a gradual process that unfolds through 2025 and 2026, allowing the team to continue to work on other enhancements to Glide at the same time. The first example of this new technology in use is our new billing experience for Glide Time users.

List of recent changes that are available at gapp.glideworkpm.com:

Workflow:

  • Significant speed improvements – including but not limited to dashboards widgets, notification and traffic light counts.
  • Various improvements to the query editors:
    • Saved queries can now be edited.
    • Sortable dates option to ensure dates work well in Excel.
    • A new sub-jobs query editor that can report on sub-jobs (for example, reporting only on Accounts in a workflow system with both an Account and a Corporation Tax sub-system).
    • Jobs and sub-jobs query engines can output and filter by actual dates linked to specific progress buttons.
  • New reports available:
    • Confirmation statement comparison – provides a Glide data comparison to Companies House data.
    • 7 day activity report – see all jobs that have moved in a 7 day period along with the stage they have progressed from and to. Crucially, just two stages, as opposed to a longer list of event logs for each stage they have passed through.
    • Statutory deadlines – a comprehensive list of all statutory deadlines with various filters.
  • Advanced progress monitor report page. This presents a stage or group progress monitor, with the ability to view one column per route, office, manager, partner or any active job position.
  • Any workflow system can now inherit its initial trigger date value from the next expected Accounts Year End date or Confirmation Statement date currently shown at Companies House.

Automation:

  • Client and their contacts report – a quick way to ensure clients have appropriately tagged contacts and an email/mobile, based on the services they have active.
  • Tag usage report – see where different tags are being deployed on your automations.
  • Personal outbox that shows all draft or sent emails generated in Glide that are from you.

Scheduler

  • A new Scheduler / Team planner.
    • Including: Moving blocks auto-adjusts endpoint to avoid weekends.
  • Speed improvements.

Time

  • An entirely new billing experience, now available in beta release.
    • Presents a live summary per client/job/in total of:
      • The WIP balance
      • Entries written off against the bill.
      • Over/under and recovery rates.
      • Advance time movements.
      • Projected c/fwd WIP.
    • Presents information about the linked Xero client prior to raising the invoice.
    • Date filters to easily exclude entries after the date you are billing up to.
    • New bulk operations (now all available for each job/category/client, as well as in total).
      • Reset – resets the billing screen data.
      • Redeem – redeem all advance time.
      • Redeem and allocate – redeems advance time and allocates to all time entries.
        • Function to allow redeemed value to be allocated over picked time, unpicked time and all time.
        • Expected to be exceptionally useful for allocating imported invoices (from Excel and/or Xero), i.e. where the overall bill total needs to be £0.
      • Refresh WIP data – allows a refresh of the WIP data without losing the work done so far on the bill.
      • Fixed fee – enter a fee and we will allocate the value pro-rate across picked entries.
        • The fact that this can now be ‘per job’ will make recovery data more accurate.
        • Fixed fees can now be set to £0.
    • Ability to add time categories to the bill even when there are no time/expense entries logged against them.
    • Supports different tax rates for each line item.
    • Pull tax rates direct from Xero where you have the integration activated.
  • New reports:
    • Billed recovery – see aggregated recovery rates on bills raised by client, service, client/service, user, office, partner, manager and more.
    • Alternate staff productivity report – see productivity with a three way analysis of non-client time.
    • Historical WIP – see the WIP balance as at any previous date.
    • Inputs – see a summary of time and expense inputs for a specified date range.
    • Billed before this date range, but recorded in it – a handy report for WIP reconciliations.
    • Billed during date range, but recorded after – as above.

Please do contact the team if you have any queries in relation to the above.

The new Glide front-end is accessible at https://gapp.glideworkpm.com – please let us know right away any initial feedback that you might have, we are constantly improving Glide motivated by feedback from users like yourself.

Please note: Certain custom reports available on the legacy version of Glide may not yet be available on this updated frontend. If you find yourself unable to access a particular report then we would ask you to let us know and we will ensure conversion to the new frontend is prioritised for that particular report. In the meantime you will be able to return to the legacy version of Glide to access those reports.
